Although I write on a wide variety of travel topics, a particular area of expertise is cruising, one of the fastest-growing and constantly evolving tourism sectors. I started as a specialist in river cruising and now also cover the expedition cruising and luxury cruising sectors.

 

What does it take to be an expert cruise writer? The practical experience of six or seven river and ocean cruises annually. A weekly cruise column called "The Shipping News" in the Traveller section of leading Australian broadsheet newspapers The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, which is further syndicated in numerous regional and New Zealand newspapers and published online at traveller.com.au.

 

The publication of cruise stories in some of Australia's leading media outlets, such as The Australian Financial Review, Australian Gourmet Traveller, Cruise Passenger and Travel Bulletin. And further, contributions to leading websites such as Cruises.com.au, plus corporate writing - brochures, newsletters and magazines - for major cruise lines including Cunard, P&O Australia, Silversea and Viking Cruises.
